I have hated the word team since I was 16! Working in a team usually meant I did 99% of the work while everyone else relaxed. The past few years however has changed my view on working with a team. Currently me and four friends have a collaborative project called Da Office where we shoot skits, host podcast and more coming soon. What is great is that everyone apart of the group has their own business or hobby, and this is where the Jordan and Pippen comes into play. As great as Jordan was everyone has noted that Pippen was a key player to that success.

Whenever one of us is making traction or has a new product or work they become the Jordan. We make sure the product is great by offering insight and often our services to fully get it up and running. We are the Pippens at that moment. From liking, commenting and sharing post to going to events to help them promote what they are doing. Often times your team will be the only support you have in the beginning and can be your key players to getting the success you need. Here are a few important things to consider.

  1. Everyone Must Participate! – When working in a team everyone should have a role and assist the star player of the moment.
  2. Kill Your Ego! – As much as we all believe we are important, it’s also important to remove your ego and help boost your friends. When it’s your turn everyone else will do the same! This is something I preach daily to others and myself when I slip up.
  3. Learn When To Switch – After your project has been completed and the team has done their job swap. This might be instantaneous or maybe a few weeks or months from now, but you need to be comfortable with playing Pippen while your team member becomes Jordan. *See number 2 again if needed*
  4. Stay Organized – A calendar can help with setting up campaigns for each project so everyone knows when, where and how to do the necessary things to excel. There is nothing worse than an unorganized group, this is how problems will occur.
